      Do We Need an Animal Protection Law?

      Sometimes, animals are treated cruelly by people, such as being killed or abandoned at will, or even being taken advantage of, like bears being taken their gall. So the suggestion of drafting an animal protection law by the legal profession sparks a hot debate across the nation.
      Some applaud it by saying that some animals are about to become extinct if we don’t take action to protect them, especially the rare ones. Besides, animal protection is not only a matter of human morality, but also a crucial element to sustainable development of human beings. Others who frown on it, on the contrary, insist that the existence of animals follows the laws of nature and doesn’t need man’s interference.

      As for me, I firmly advocate the idea of setting up an animal protection law, as we humankind should spare no effort to protect the animals and treat them as our friends. The whole earth is a big family, in which all the members need to get along well with one another peacefully and harmoniously.
